Episode 72: Shazbot!!!

Greetings Dear Listener,

Given the tragic event from earlier this week, we pay a small tribute to the giant that was Robin Williams.  Dammit.

In honor of Sleep releasing The Clarity for Adult Swim, the entire playlist for this episode involves the word "sleep" in some way or another.

Zeitgeist will be playing on August 18th at the Union Project.  They'll be playing with War On Women and RVIVR.  The show starts at 7.

OFF! will be in town on August 23rd.  I will definitely leave the house for Keith Morris.  Fuck the drunks.

Ty Segall has a new record coming out in a few weeks.  Manipulator is available for pre-order at Drag City.

Sub Pop will be releasing Sarah Silverman's new album We Are Miracles on September 23rd.  Hooray!!!  The vinyl is limited to 750 copies so get your pre-order in.

Get Hurt by The Gaslight Anthem came out this week.  I haven't had the chance to sit down and focus on it but I liked what I heard from my first pass at it.  The strange thing about the record is the album artwork for the deluxe version.  It looks like large pendulous balls.

See?  Balls.

The Hitchbot experiment in Canada is something that would never happen in America.  That robot would have been destroyed or sodomized or both within the first hour.

Aaron McGruder, the creator of The Boondocks, has a new show on Adult Swim.  It's live action and it's called Black Jesus.  And it's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.  If you thought The Boondocks was offensive, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Punk-Stank, the sponsor from last episode, has returned again to sponsor this episode.  Many thanks to Stank-More Industries for having faith in this humble program.

Thanks for listening.

Rock over London.  Rock on Chicago.

Nanu Nanu.
