Now that the battle between billionaires and millionaires has been settled, we can all get back to watching grown men play a children's game. Let the hockeying commence!!!
And on to what matters most, the music.
Anti-Flag released a new single called "Bacon." They pressed up 500 of them on a bacon shaped picture disc. There are two songs on it and they're both on each side so there's no A or B. Here's a picture of it:
They also pressed it on "bone" colored vinyl for Interpunk. The two tracks are on side A and the band signed side B.
Anti-Flag will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. Look for them to be playing in a town near you. Well done, sirs.
The label Chalker Place Records released a three song live LP from Sleep. They pressed up 420 copies on what they are calling "pot green" vinyl. The songs are from a show in Denver, CO in 2010. When I was trying to find a track listing for this record, I noticed that the internets were abuzz with hate over this release. It seems the internet is used for porn, cat videos and spouting off at the mouth by people that don't know how to contribute so they criticize. Good for them.
There are a few videos posted on the Youtubes of Sleep's set from 9/5/2010 out there that were worth checking out if you missed out on the vinyl.
The Austrian label Napalm Records was licensed to release Apocryphon by The Sword, in Europe. They pressed it on different colors 100 at a time. So far there has been pink, copper and clear pink vinyl along with the standard black. There are three live tracks and a ZZ Top cover added as bonus tracks. It even comes with a CD to make it more portable.
Thin Lizzy's first record was reissued on vinyl by Light In The Attic. A worthwhile aural venture if there ever was one.
Deerhoof's recent release, Breakup Song, was pressed on 7 flexi-discs and bound into a notebook. There were only 500 of these made by Joyful Noise. Here's an instructional video on how to play it:
We get into a new Public Enemy track, as well. Off of The Evil Empire Of Everything, we'll hear Riotstarted which features an intro by Henry Rollins and guitar by Tom Morello.
Refused played their final show on December 15th, 2012. We pay tribute with Refused Are Fuckin' Dead off of that Mecha-Godzilla sized record of theirs, The Shape Of Punk To Come.
That's all for now.
Thanks for listening.
