Greetings Dear Listener,
Holy crap do I have a mountain of new records to sift through. Record Store Day was a blur of under-fed, under-caffeinated activity. The only releases on my list that were missed were the Ghostbusters glow-in-the-dark 10-inch and the Pennyroyal Tea single from Nirvana.
The reissue of True Widow's first LP was worth driving across town at 6:30am on a Saturday. It was pressed on cream colored vinyl and sounds much better than the original pressing.
Due to his limited use of distributors and his unlimited frustrations with Record Store Day, Mike over at Mind Cure Records released two records of his own to get in on the festivities. Mike put out an LP by Eels and another single from the Gotobeds.
My usual preemptive strike the week before Record Store Day was extremely fruitful as well. Forthcoming episodes will be jam packed with jams.
I had another "I am old, lame and hate drunk people" moment and skipped the Julie Ruin show a few weeks ago. I am regretting that decision but I did go to see Captain America that night instead so all was not lost.
Needless to say, that movie was bad ass. And suddenly, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has suddenly gotten a lot better. Adding Patton Oswalt to the cast for a few episodes was the icing on the cake.
I started to reread X-Men: Days Of Future Past. I forgot how dry the writing for the X-Men could be. Hopefully they get that ironed out for the movie.
Speaking of the X-Men, here's the artwork for the episode:
I'm not sure what argument was rendered invalid by Muppet X-Men but I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this.
Thanks for listening.

Episode 63: Wasted Years Is Hurting My Ears And I Like It
Greetings Dear Listener,
OFF!'s Wasted Years came out this week and holy crap is it good. In honor of the release we will be getting into some OFF! that is not on the LP. What's Next? was part of the soundtrack to one of the many pointless Grand Theft Auto video games.
The Julie Ruin will be in town this Friday at Mr. Smalls. Something tells me that it will be worth the horrendous traffic involved with getting to the venue.
Lemuria has announced tour dates for the spring and summer. They'll be opening for the Menzingers and stop through town on June 5th. They'll be playing at Altar Bar so gird your loins for bad sound.
The Greg Ginn helmed version of Black Flag will be whimpering through town at some point. Due to lack of interest, my brain failed to store the date and location of the show. I've still got a sour taste in my ears from the Flag debacle from last year. Those were some of my favorite records and I haven't been able to listen to them since.
Epitaph has reissued three EP's from Refused on colored vinyl. They've also done some sort of Bad Religion reissues that will be available at Hot Topic or something.
The Boondocks, Louie, Robot Chicken, Maron and Mad Men will be starting new seasons soon. There goes getting anything done around the house.
If you were curious about the artwork attached to the file, here's the full photo:
Maybe they'll hire Ang Lee to direct the Masters Of The Universe reboot.
Thanks for listening.
